Call for papers (2025-I)
Antec: Revista Peruana de Investigación Musical, published by the Universidad Nacional de Música of Peru, invites submissions for Volume 9.1, corresponding to the first semester of 2025. This issue will feature a special dossier commemorating the centenary of the death of José María Valle Riestra (1858–1925).
The journal welcomes articles addressing topics related to Peruvian, Latin American, and international music, as well as reviews of books, journals, and phonographic publications of interest to the musical community, from diverse perspectives.
Suggested themes include:
– Trends and intellectual currents associated with music, such as nationalism, indigenism, folklorism, popular music, negritude, neo-nationalism, neo-indigenism, identity studies, gender studies, cultural studies, fusion, decoloniality, interculturality, multiculturalism, among others
– Analytical approaches (formal, functional, structural, hermeneutic, rhetorical, semiotic, dialectical, stylistic, aesthetic, phenomenological, pluralistic, or critical) to works or musical events of interest
– Dissemination and reception
The journal cordially invites academics, musicologists, ethnomusicologists, researchers, critics, conductors, and scholars to contribute articles and reviews for this issue.
Manuscripts may be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese, or English and will undergo double-blind peer review. Authors will be informed of the editorial decision, which may be:
– Accepted
– Accepted with revisions
– Not accepted
The submission deadline is Friday, February 7, 2025. Manuscripts must comply with APA style (7th edition) and follow the journal’s editorial guidelines for each type of submission. Submissions should be sent to: revista.investigacion@unm.edu.pe
