Artificial Intelligence

1. Use of Artificial Intelligence in Authorship and Manuscript Preparation

The Editorial Team of ANTEC: Revista Peruana de Investigación Musical continuously monitors developments in artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and their use in academic and scientific research. In this regard, the use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies is permitted exclusively for basic editorial support tasks, including spelling, grammar, syntax, semantics, and reference formatting. These basic uses do not require disclosure; however, authors must ensure that the use of such tools does not compromise the coherence, originality, or conceptual integrity of their work.

When researchers employ AI tools for data extraction, analysis, or the presentation of results, they must describe these procedures in sufficient detail within the Methods section to allow for methodological transparency and reproducibility. This description should include the tool used, its version, and, where applicable, the prompts employed.

The use of AI tools for the creation of tables, figures, or substantial modifications to the structure or content of a manuscript is not recommended. If authors use AI for these or other purposes beyond the permitted basic support functions, they must disclose such use, ensure that all AI-assisted content has been reviewed and validated by the authors, and assume full responsibility for the final manuscript.

This disclosure must be included at the end of the manuscript, before the reference list, under the heading “Declaration of AI Use”, and must also be reported in the journal’s Author Form. This declaration does not apply to the use of AI tools for language improvement and does not imply the recognition of AI as an author, as such tools cannot assume responsibility for the content of a scholarly work.

ANTEC will continue to monitor developments in these technologies and will update its AI policy whenever necessary.
