Abstract

This text offers an analysis of the stylistic trends among composers of the 2000 Generation in Peru, highlighting the diversity and coexistence of compositional styles. Two main axes are presented: the first spans from conventional to experimental music, and the second ranges from nationalist to cosmopolitan music. From these axes, four categories emerge: Modernist Folklorism, Vanguard Nationalism, Cosmopolitanism and Experimentalism. These are not understood as formal movements, but rather as tendencies and approaches that have arisen in an uncoordinated manner in Peru. Examples of works and composers representing these categories are included.
