Abstract

Many popular musical expressions made in Peru have been relegated for various reasons, including socio-cultural discrimination that generated little interest in studying them from the various academic disciplines, or even preserving them methodically. Certain researchers have managed to gather information through first-hand sources due to the scarce bibliography that exists. For example, record collections, photographs, and oral interviews with actors ended up becoming the main sources. Thanks to this evidence, paths were opened that would show great phenomena that transcended beyond music and deserved continuous analysis.
