Abstract

The publication of research on music in Peru has been growing in recent decades. In such growth, it can be said that musical practices of local roots or the so-called “traditional music” are the universes of greatest attention in recent works. It is possibly in these musical practices where researchers aim to understand important social phenomena such as the construction of identities, the change and permanence of certain musical behaviors, ethnicity in its new meanings, among others related to the understanding of music as a culture.
