Call for papers 2026-I

For the publication of Volume 1 of ANTEC: Journal of Musical Research of the Universidad Nacional de Música of Peru, corresponding to the first semester of 2026, the journal invites the national and international community of musicians to submit contributions on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the composer Celso Garrido-Lecca (Piura 1926, Lima, 2025) in the form of in-depth articles about his life, work, composition techniques, languages ??cultivated by him, his transcendence in Peruvian and Latin American music, his legacy as manager of the CNM Popular Song Workshop, his role as a teacher and guide for new generations. Likewise, articles are encouraged that address, from diverse perspectives, topics related to Peruvian, Latin American and international music, reviews of books, magazines and phonographic publications of interest to the musical community:

  1. Trends or schools of thought associated with music: nationalism, indigenism, folklorism, popular music, Negritude, neo-nationalism, neo-indigenism, identity issues, gender, cultural studies, fusion, decoloniality, interculturality, multiculturalism, etc.
  2. Analysis (formal, functional, structural, hermeneutic, rhetorical, semiotic, dialectical, stylistic, aesthetic, phenomenological, pluralist, critical) of musical works or events of interest.
  3. Dissemination and reception.

The journal cordially invites academics, musicologists, ethnomusicologists, researchers, critics, conductors, and scholars in general to contribute feature articles for the next issue of the journal, as well as reviews of books, magazines, and phonographic publications of interest to the music community..

Submissions may be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese, and English and will be reviewed on a double-blind basis. Once the review is complete, the authors will be informed of the decisions made. These may include:

  1. Text Approval
  2. Text Approval with comments and modifications to be made
  3. Text Disapproval

The submission deadline is Friday, January 30, 2026. Proposals must comply with APA (seventh edition) standards and follow the guidelines indicated in the journal's editorial standards for each type of text submitted.
