The negritos folk groups and the traditional Christmas music in the region of Ica

The present work is based on the observation and participation in the Christmas celebrations, during the years 2018 and 2020, in the district of El Carmen, province of Chincha, Ica region; and, mainly, on the festival of January 6, the day on which the birth of Melchorita is remembered and celebrated, in the district of Grocio Prado. Likewise, this study is based on the review of documentaries and bibliography on the subject, which is still scarce from a strictly musical point of view.
