Abstract

The present research proposes a solution to the lack of time in classical guitar learning by analyzing the contributions of Uruguayan musician and teacher Eduardo Fernandez as found in his book Technique, Mechanism, Learning: An Investigation into Becoming a Guitarist. This research presents specific steps so as to apply the cited book to different pedagogical aspects such as musical analysis, fingering, and solutions to technical difficulties.

Author Biography

  • Daniel Hugo Romero Vizcarra, Universidad Nacional de Música

    He began his studies with Oscar Zamora. He studied at the Paris Regional Conservatory in the class of Ramón de Herrera and at the Aulnays Sous Bois Regional Conservatory with Judicael Perroy. He won first place in the “UFAM International Competition” (Paris–France) and in the “Gabriel Estarellas International Guitar Competition” (Arequipa–Peru). He has been a classical guitar teacher for the “Ligue d’ enseignement de Paris” and at the “Claudine Collart” Conservatory (Lille–France). He is currently a professor at the National University of Music (Peru).
