Javier Echecopar is a versatile character: guitarist, composer, musical researcher, teacher, diplomat, connoisseur of classical and popular music, ancient and modern, European and American, historical and experimental, collector of traditional music and a memorious transcriber of ancient music for his instrument. Recently, Echecopar presented his book La música del Perú. Tras los certificados de nuestras identidades culturas (The music of Peru. Behind the codes of our cultural identities), one of the most important editorial novelties in our cultural environment, which enriches the musical literature of our country, in which he has poured concepts, notions, memories, approaches, anecdotes, quotes from readings, allusions to important music makers and creators of other arts and personal reflections, all accumulated throughout an extensive career as a musician that exceeds five decades of activity.
