Abstract

Anniversaries are always a pretext to organize activities around them. This year 2024, Peru commemorates the bicentennial of the two battles that defined the course taken by our peoples when they freed themselves from Spanish rule and declared themselves independent territories. For this reason, the Research Institute of the National University of Music organized the Scientific Meeting International Symposium of Musicology “On the bicentennial of the battles of Junín and Ayacucho: Musical creation, research and dissemination”, which took place, virtually, on August 21 of this year. The papers presented were intended to be published in the Dossier of ANTEC, a Peruvian music research journal, which was designed for such an important commemoration.
